This is a personal site for the creation of Excel Charts using PHP and XML as an answer to a request for an “Easy Button” for creating charts. I plan to take my Excel files and export them to MySQL and post the files online where the charts will be created and displayed by clicking on links for each specific chart. A co-worker out-of-state introduced me to this, and this site is being created to allow me a place to house a sample database and record my findings as I learn how to do it. I started by getting this site hosted by GoDaddy I plan to download a program PHP/SWF Charts with flash from www.maani.us/charts/index.php. I plan to import my Excel data into MySQL which is supported on GoDaddy. Speaking of tools and shortcuts, I highly recommend this cool macro tool I just began using after an engineer in my department introduced it to me. It can be found at www.macros.com. It can be used in various programs like Oracle and Excel. I had one macro created for me to pull record numbers from an Excel sheet and then it goes to Oracle and looks up each record and creates a PDF file for each record and saves it in the appropriate Windows folder based on the supplier name for the record in the Excel file. This saves me hours of manually copying, pasting and saving the files to the folders. I LOVE IT! Coming soon...My favorite Excel formulas and tips. How to stop those annoying errors from displaying when dividing by zero. Have your pivot tables sort automatically. Short, easy VBA code to have pivot tables automatically “refresh” or update on page click. Creating a user-defined chart type based on not only your preferences for colors, styles and fonts but can also include a customized title. Click here to see what I have so far. Updates will be made weekly. |
