While at Bank One, we had a company wide change to Lotus 1-2-3, and I converted all of the files over.  I  upgraded my Reflex data to Fox Pro and then to Lotus Approach.

The next upgrade/change was to Microsoft Office, and I converted everything over to Excel and Access.  I have been using Excel ever since.  I have read various books to learn shortcuts to enable me to perform duties faster and more accurately.

At HSBC I was an e-commerce administrator and QA tester for internet, extranet and intranet pages for the company for our consumer, dealer and internal sites.  I wrote queries to pull data from Microsoft SQL, which I exported to Excel to analyze and report data for site visits, credit applications, credit decisions, and funded loans.  I also worked with programmers from business alliances like eLoan.com, People First and Carlender.com.  We accepted credit applications electronically over an e-bridge using CGI or XML code.

I am now working for a tech manufacturer in Carlsbad doing reporting for the quality department.  We use Oracle and export the data to Excel.  I spend most of my days updating manufacturing inspection and test data, presenting the data using pivot tables and charts.  I now plan to combine the knowledge I have with Excel and the internet to allow other users in our company to access the charts real-time as soon as I have uploaded the new data.

For phase 2, our programming team will be working to put an Excel csv file up on some internal wiki pages using wiki markup language and users will be able to click links for the type of charts they need to see.

For phase 3, our programming team will use Java and move the code to an extranet which would allow customers access to the data for their products only.

For phase 4, I plan to have the data automatically pull from Oracle or in the case of outside vendors to have the data automatically pulled from their websites.

My name is Anne Sneller.  Most of my career has been spent in auto and mortgage finance.  I was responsible for reporting sales volumes and collection percentages and losses monthly.

The first spreadsheet program I used was Quattro Pro around 1990.  I was also using a database program named Reflex which was also by Borland.  Before using the software, I manually calculated all of the sums and percentages and then typed the data on forms we ordered from a printer.
